Resources for Parents/Caregivers

The St. Louis Urban Debate League is committed to engaging parents and adult care givers of our young debaters, believing it “takes a village” to successfully meet the needs of the youth we reach each year. We strive to achieve this in the following ways:

Tournament Open-Door Policy: All parents/caregivers are encouraged to attend SLUDL debate tournaments and watch their student in action! Access our tournament schedule here. (updating, stay tuned!)

SLUDL Staff Access: Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to contact SLUDL’s Executive Director and Program Director throughout the year to express ideas, concerns, or pose questions related to any aspect of SLUDL programming by calling 314-345-4484, or email

SLUDL Parent Committee: In the fall of 2016, SLUDL will establish a Parent Committee that will meet 3-5 times throughout the season. Stay tuned for more details!

Parent Volunteer Opportunities: Throughout the year, parents/caregivers are invited to assist SLUDL staff with a variety of program activities including supporting after-school practices, tournament and special event coordinating, fundraising, and more!

Information and Announcements: Parents can access our 2016-17 program schedule, as well as announcements related to scholarships and debate camps here.
