Our Mission

To provide high school and middle school students                                    attending urban schools in the St. Louis area                                    opportunities for academic and personal growth through their                  engagement in policy debate programs and college readiness activities.

Program Goals and Objectives include:

1) School Partnerships: establish debate programming at urban public high schools and middle schools within the metro-St. Louis area

2) Student Engagement: involve at least 200 urban youth each academic year through meaningful, “real-world”-based policy debate programming

3) Teacher-Coach Training: provide quality professional development opportunities for teacher-coaches participating in the League so they may achieve Common Core Standards in the classroom

4) College Access: foster skills through debate to improve student GPA and ACT scores and to increase graduation rates, partner with local universities to introduce students to collegiate level debate and higher education opportunities, provide information regarding college debate scholarships, and advocate for debate scholarships in higher education
